With Olly back in school, our IM sessions are significantly more constrained. He IMs when he can—in the middle of classes or, some of the time, right amidst one. Amid his first week back he does his best to influence me to feel as though I'm in that spot with him. He sends photos of his locker (#23), his class plan, the library and the bookkeeper who looks precisely as I envision a secondary school custodian would, which is to state scholarly and awesome. He sends pictures of math proofs from his AP math class, his AP English required perusing list, pictures of containers and petri dishes from his science and science classes.
